Angie Waplington is an experienced education leader with more than 30 years’ service across primary schools in Lincolnshire. Her career spans roles as a classroom teacher, SENDCo, and headteacher, working predominantly in schools facing complex and challenging contexts, including high levels of deprivation, significant SEND needs, and high pupil mobility.
As a school leader, Angie has been deeply committed to inclusive education and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners, guided by the principle of 'every child, every day, every minute.' She has a strong track record of strengthening whole-school approaches to inclusion and ensuring that all children receive the support they need to succeed.
Since 2023, Angie has been working with Lincolnshire County Council as the lead for the Gainsborough Aspiration Project. The project focuses on improving outcomes for children and young people in Gainsborough, particularly in areas of higher deprivation. The project brings together more than 80 partners including schools, local authorities, businesses, health services, and community organisations to deliver a coordinated, whole-system approach to supporting children, families, and communities.
Angie is driven by a passion for making a tangible difference at a local level. She is committed to ensuring that services work collaboratively and effectively so that children, young people, and families receive the right support at the right time. Through her leadership, the Gainsborough Aspiration Project demonstrates the power of collective, place-based action to transform outcomes at scale.
