Anna Coney is an experienced education leader with more than 15 years’ experience as a primary school headteacher and director of education. During this time, she led school improvement, championed inclusive practice, and worked across systems to raise standards and improve outcomes for children and young people.
She now works with Lincolnshire County Council as an education locality lead, leading the Skegness Aspiration Project and, from September 2026, the Boston Aspiration Project. In this role, Anna develops place-based approaches that bring together schools, services, and communities to respond to local need.
Her work centres on system-wide collaboration, with particular expertise in supporting vulnerable groups, including children with SEND, care-experienced young people, and those facing social and economic barriers. Passionate about inclusion and belonging, Anna works collaboratively with partners to translate national policy into practical local action, helping to strengthen partnerships and improve experiences for children and families.
