Beth Tanton is Director of SEND at Compass Eko Trust, where she leads inclusive practice across the trust's mainstream schools. With experience spanning teaching, leadership, safeguarding, inclusion and trust-wide improvement, Beth works alongside leaders, teachers and support staff to help every child and young person achieve and thrive.
At the heart of Beth's work is a simple belief: everyone should feel that they belong. Having spent many years as a SENCO, she is passionate about helping schools build cultures where difference is seen as a strength and where high expectations are combined with the right support.
Beth is particularly interested in bringing the expertise of the trust's special schools into mainstream settings, creating opportunities for professionals to learn from one another and strengthening inclusive practice for all learners. Her work focuses on removing barriers, developing staff confidence, empowering teachers to make informed decisions about their practice and embedding adaptive approaches that help all learners succeed.
Holding a Master's degree in Special and Inclusive Education, Beth is committed to evidence-informed practice and professional learning. She is driven by the belief that inclusion is not an initiative or a strategy, but a shared responsibility that shapes how schools serve their communities and underpins lasting school improvement.
