Christina Johnston is the Head of Liberty Research School and a Doctoral Candidate at the University of East London (UEL). She has a background in psychology and special education, with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and hands-on experience in roles ranging from Assistant Psychologist to Therapy Team Lead. Christina has dedicated her career to improving educational outcomes for Autistic young people.

Her approach is rooted in the belief that Autistic young people should play an active role in informing the research and interventions that affect their lives. She is committed to collaborating with students, families and professionals to develop evidence-based practices that enhance educational outcomes and quality of life for Autistic pupils. Liberty Research School aims to be a beacon of innovation, learning and collaboration.
