Christine Franklin is the director of safeguarding and inclusion at Academy Transformation Trust (ATT), where she leads trust‑wide work across 22 academies, through her work in safeguarding, inclusion, attendance, wellbeing and SEND. With more than 18 years’ experience across specialist, primary, secondary and further education, Christine has spent her career championing children and young people who need education systems to work better for them. She is known for her grounded, compassionate approach and her ability to translate policy, evidence and complexity into practical, values‑driven practice that supports schools to make meaningful change.
Christine’s work is shaped not only by her professional experience but also by her personal one. As a mum of two, and through supporting family members with SEND to navigate the education system, she has experienced first‑hand the difference that thoughtful, equitable and inclusive practice can make. She genuinely enjoys championing equity, advocating for inclusion, and working alongside others to remove barriers and build belonging. Since joining ATT, Christine has led significant improvements in safeguarding practice, SEND outcomes and attendance, supporting leaders and practitioners to create cultures where pupils feel safe, seen and supported. She is particularly passionate about system leadership, professional learning and creating consistency without losing humanity. Driven by a deep belief in fairness, belonging and possibility, Christine continues to work alongside school leaders to strengthen provision, nurture professional confidence and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
