The Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC)

The Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) is the specialist regulator for conveyancing and probate in England and Wales. Like the SRA for solicitors, it’s an approved regulator, but it focuses only on these two areas, so CLC‑licensed people are specialists.

By law (Legal Services Act 2007), some tasks are reserved and can only be done by an Authorised Person (someone with the right licence) - think of it like Gas Safe for legal work.

For careers advice, that matters: employers in conveyancing and probate hire and train to licence‑to‑practice, because only licensed staff can do the reserved parts of the job.

Come and find out about the flexible and great value routes to legal careers where new entrants are in high demand.
