Haili is an international expert in teacher mentoring, instructional coaching, professional development at scale, and teacher retention and they work at the intersection of research, policy, and practice. She currently serves as director of professional development at All Saints MAT in Liverpool and professor of teacher mentoring and coaching at Academica UoAS—making her the only professor in England who also serves as a trust leader. This dual role offers a unique perspective on sustainable teacher development across systems. Haili also delivers and marks NPQs for Teach First and Ambition Institute, advises the Department for Education as an ITT quality advisor, and sits on The Teaching Commission, working to address the sector’s most urgent challenge: recruiting and retaining teachers.
