Retired headteacher Keith Wadsworth dedicated his career to student welfare, believing happy students learn best. While a deputy head, responsible for pastoral care, necessity was the mother of invention when he found himself needing to support several newly bereaved young people. In the absence of any existing guidance, Keith developed the Contact-me model. Its implementation revealed the high number of grieving students that often unnoticed in schools. Now widely referenced in school bereavement literature, Contact-me remains uniquely practical and accessible.

Keith continues to train teachers and school leaders through Stand-by-me, helping them implement the model.
