Michelle Bowen is an Education Consultant and the Business Director at Biophilic Innovations, a company dedicated to helping schools and colleges rethink their design spaces. With over 25 years of successful experience spanning Further Education and Alternative Provision, Michelle specialises in supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.

In her previous role as Headteacher, she pioneered the development of a Biophilic Designed Special School. Having witnessed firsthand the profound positive benefits of biophilic design on the wellbeing of pupils, staff, and parents, Michelle is passionate about helping other educational settings harness the power of nature-inspired spaces. Personally, she practices what she preaches, integrating biophilic principles and regular exercise into her own life to support health and wellbeing.
